NSW police investigating after pedestrian dies near Wollongong

An investigation is underway after a pedestrian died in a crash near Wollongong tonight.

About 9.30pm (Thursday 13 February 2020), emergency services were called to the Princes Highway, near O’Briens Road, at Figtree, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

On arrival, officers from Wollongong Police District located a man, believed to be aged in his 50s, deceased. He has not been formally identified.

The male driver of the vehicle was not injured and was taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers have established a crime scene has been established and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
