NSW police lay charges after fatal crash near Crookwell

A woman has been charged after a woman died in a crash in the state’s south late last year.

About 11.15am on Saturday 7 December 2019, emergency services were called to Binda Road, Binda, near Crookwell, following reports a Toyota Landcruiser and a Hyundai Accent sedan had collided.

Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, a 62-year-old female passenger in the SUV died at the scene.

The 64-year-old male driver of the SUV and the 28-year-old female driver of the Hyundai were treated and taken to Canberra and Goulburn hospitals with minor injuries.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators charged a 28-year-old woman from the ACT with negligent driving causing death, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and cut in front of vehicle after overtaking.

The woman was issued a Court Attendance Notice and is due to appear before Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday 5 August 2020.
