NSW police lay charges after police, security, bus driver assaulted in Sydney’s CBD

A man will face court today charged after allegedly assaulting police, security guard, and a bus driver in Sydney’s CBD.

About 1pm yesterday (Friday 25 November 2022), police have been told that a bus was travelling on Kent Street, when a male passenger grabbed the bus driver and allegedly tried to force entry into the driver’s compartment.

Another passenger intervened and the 29-year-old man was guided off the bus near Margaret Street.

Just before 2pm the same day, officers from Sydney City Police Area Command were called to a bowling alley in King Street after a man allegedly assaulted a security guard and staff.

When responding officers approached the man to speak with him, he allegedly kicked one male constable before assaulting another male constable and spitting on him.

He was arrested and taken to Day Street Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of assault police officer in execution of duty, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, three counts of common assault, and breach of bail.

The Hebersham man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 26 November 2022).
