NSW police lay charges over road rage incident

A man has been charged as investigations continue into an alleged assault in Sydney’s west today.

Just before 2pm (Friday 24 January 2020), a Subaru Forester station wagon came to a stop on The Crescent at Homebush West to park in a nearby parking spot.

A Honda CRV SUV, driven by a 42-year-old man, attempted to drive around the vehicle when a passenger from the Subaru, another 42-year-old man, allegedly jumped in front of his car.

Police will allege in court that the male passenger, along with a group of males, began to assault the driver of the Honda and damage the vehicle.

An eight-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the Honda, was not injured.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended and arrested a 42-year-old man at the scene.

He was taken to Auburn Police Station, where he was charged with common assault and affray.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 25 January 2020).

As investigations continue, anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
