NSW police lay charges over suspicious house fire

Two people have been charged over a suspicious house fire in Sydney’s north-west earlier this year.

About 5.20am on Thursday 4 February 2021), emergency services were called to Neilson Crescent, Bligh Park, following reports a house was well alight.

Fire & Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.

No one was home at the time, and there were not reports of injury.

The fire was deemed suspicious and officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

Following inquires, investigators arrested a 57-year-old man at a home in Windsor on Wednesday 15 September 2021.

He was charged with destroy property in company – use fire and remains before the courts. He is next due to appear before Windsor Local Court on Thursday 10 February 2022.

Following further inquiries, investigators arrested a 30-year-old woman at home in Windsor about 8.20am yesterday (Wednesday 17 November 2021).

She was charged with destroy property in company – use fire. She appeared at Penrith Local Court yesterday (Wednesday 17 November 2021), where she was granted conditional bail to appear at Windsor Local Court on Thursday 9 December 2021.
