NSW police release images as part of investigation into cigarettes and cash thefts

Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man and woman following a series of thefts of cigarettes and cash.

Between 19 February 2020 and 15 March 2020, a number of convenience stores, tobacconists, supermarkets and Newsagents have been the target of cigarettes and cash thefts.

The group of up to four appear to be targeting cigarettes and cash at multiple locations including Turrella, Mascot, Earlwood and Eastern Suburbs.

Officers from South Sydney Police Area Command have commenced an investigation under Strike Force Bettowynd and are now appealing to the community for information.

As part of their appeal, officers have released an image of a man and woman who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man is depicted as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170-180cm tall, aged in his 30s, with a solid build and bald head.

The woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance,160-170cm tall with a slim build, aged between 20-25, long brown hair.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have been in the areas around the time of the thefts and noticed suspicious activity to come forward.
