Police are appealing for public information following an armed robbery in the state’s Northern Tablelands.
About 4am (Saturday 4 January 2020) a man armed with two large knives entered a service station on Marsh Street, Armidale.
Two staff members observed the offender approaching the console area and immediately moved to a nearby office where their manager was located and barricaded themselves in.
The man attempted to force entry into the office unsuccessfully prior to stealing the locked till.
The man, who was wearing a hooded jumper, bandana and wearing gloves fled the location and was last seen heading north towards the carpark adjacent to the service station.
A crime scene was established, and an investigation in underway.
