NSW police seek information after CBD collision

Police are appealing for public assistance following a collision that left a man injured in Sydney’s CBD today.

About 10.45am today (Friday 11 September 2020), emergency services were called to the Western Distributor, near the Sussex Street exit, following reports a Volkswagen Golf and a Mack Truck collided.

Police have been told the driver of the Golf, a 47-year-old man, exited the vehicle before becoming pinned between his car and the truck.

The man was freed shortly after with the assistance of passers-by before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived. He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The truck driver, a 64-year-old man, was breath tested at the scene and returned a negative result.

Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or has dashcam footage, to come forward.
