NSW police seek information as investigation continues over fatal pedestrian crash

Police are re-appealing for information into a fatal crash at Canley Vale in September.

About 8pm on Friday 27 September 2019, emergency services were called Wolseley Street, near Sackville Street, Canley Vale, after reports of a pedestrian hit by a black 4WD Mercedes-Benz.

NSW Ambulance paramedics and officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command attended and located an unresponsive 52-year-old Fairfield man.

He was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

Horsley Road near the intersection of Sackville Street and Canley Vale Roads were closed while the scene was examined.

The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, a 64-year-old woman from Fairfield, was uninjured and taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established, and officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced investigations into the circumstances leading up to the crash.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed or have dashcam footage and/or who saw the 4WD Mercedes-Benz travelling along Wolseley Street either before or after the crash to come forward.
