NSW police seek public assistance after vehicle and motorcycle collision in Petersham

Police are appealing for public assistance as inquiries continue after a vehicle and motorcycle collided at Petersham.

About 11pm on Saturday (14 May 2022), emergency services responded to reports a 4WD and a motorcycle collided at Parramatta Road, Petersham.

The driver of the vehicle, along with his female passenger, exited and approached the rider of the motorcycle. A short conversation took place before the pair fled the area prior to the arrival of emergency services.

The rider of the motorcycle sustained serious leg injuries and was conveyed to hospital for treatment.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command are conducting inquiries into the crash and have issued vision of a vehicle, believed to be a metallic orange 4WD, as they appeal for public assistance.

Investigators would also like to speak with a man described as being of Middle Eastern / Mediterranean appearance, aged in his mid-20s to early 30s, slim build and with a sleeve tattoo on one arm.

He was with a woman who is described as being of South American appearance with long brown hair.
