Strike Force Raptor will seek the extradition of a man at a Queensland court today as part of an ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of firearm parts.
In June 2018, investigators from the Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs and firearms across the state.
As part of ongoing inquiries, Queensland Police, assisted by Strike Force Raptor, executed a search warrant at a business on Amamoor Creek Road, Amamoor, Queensland, about 10am yesterday (Thursday 25 June 2020).
During the search, police seized firearms, ammunition, documents, mobile devices and computers.
A 65-year-old man was arrested on a NSW warrant and taken to Gympie Police Station.
The man will appear at Gympie Magistrates Court today (Friday 26 June 2020), where NSW Police Force detectives will apply for his extradition to NSW to face firearms-related charges.
Police will allege in court that the man, who is a registered gun dealer, sold firearms parts to another man without requesting to see a firearms licence, while trading at a gun show at Bathurst in March this year.
Investigations are ongoing.
