Two men will face court today charged after a brawl at a party in Pyrmont at the weekend.
Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command were called to a unit on Wattle Crescent about 11pm on Saturday (8 May 2021), after reports of a fight involving a number of youths.
Police were told about 20 people attended the party, including some who were not invited.
A short time later, police found a 19-year-old man in a nearby park, with multiple stab wounds to his leg and head. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 16-year-old boy had also been struck in the head with a glass bottle, sustaining minor injuries.
Seven males – aged between 21 and 12 – were arrested nearby and taken to Day Street Police Station.
Two teens, aged 15 and 17 were charged with breach of bail. The older boy was also charged with custody of a knife in a public place.
Both appeared at a children’s court on Sunday (9 May 2021) and the older teen is next due to appear at a children’s court on Tuesday 8 June 2021.
The five others were released pending further investigation.
Following inquiries, the 19-year-old was arrested at hospital about 1.20pm on Sunday (9 May 2021). He remained under police guard until being released yesterday (Monday 10 May 2021).
He was taken to Day Street Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence
A 20-year-old man was also arrested at a Kings Cross business about 12pm.
He was taken to Kings Cross Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Both men were refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Tuesday 11 May 2021).
