NT Covid update 25 February

The Northern Territory is today reporting the death of a man in his 50s from Darwin related to COVID-19.

He had underlying health conditions and passed away at Royal Darwin Hospital.

There have now been 20 COVID-19 related deaths recorded in the NT since the start of the pandemic.

There were 755 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the NT in the 24 hours to 8pm on 24 February 2022. Of these, 681 were positive cases from a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).

There were 426 cases recorded in the Top End region, 185 in Central Australia, 23 in East Arnhem, 46 in the Big Rivers region, 36 in the Barkly region and 39 are under investigation.

There are currently 101 patients in hospital, with 19 patients requiring oxygen. There are seven patients in ICU.

The number of active cases in the NT is about 4,965.
