There were 940 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the Northern Territory in the 24 hours to 8pm on 27 January 2022. Of these, 774 were positive cases from a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
Following the submission of further RAT results, case numbers for the 24 hour reporting period to 8pm on January 27 have been amended to 747.
The number of active cases in the NT is about 4,200.

There are currently 105 patients in hospital, with 14 patients requiring oxygen. There are three patients in ICU.
1,623 COVID-19 PCR tests were processed across the NT yesterday.
Ampilatwatja enters 48 hour lockdown
Ampilatwatja will enter a lockdown from 2pm today for at least the next 48 hours. This is to undertake testing and to help manage the spread of COVID-19 in the community.
Ampilatwatja has a low vaccination rate and at least two cases of COVID-19 have been recorded, with exact numbers to be confirmed.
During a lockdown, residents must stay at home and are only permitted to leave for the following four reasons:
Medical treatment, including COVID testing and vaccinationFor essential goods and services, like groceries, medications or power tokens. Only one household member should visit the store, once per dayFor one hour of outdoor exercise a day within 5 km from your home with one other person or people from your houseTo provide care and support to a family member or person who cannot support themselves, or in the case of an emergency.
Essential workers who are fully vaccinated can continue to go to work.
Anyone who has been in Ampilatwatja in the last seven days and left the area must undertake a Rapid Antigen Test in the next 24 hours, unless they have already returned a negative test since leaving the community.

To slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and reduce the rate of transmission the following public health measures are in place across the NT:

COVID-19 testing
Everyone should get tested for COVID-19 if showing symptoms. A number of NT Rapid Antigen Testing and Distribution Points here have been established.
Individuals can collect RATs for free from NT distribution centres located in Darwin, Katherine, Nhulunbuy, Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.
