NT Health understands there are circumstances where visits from families and carers are particularly important. In these circumstances, families are granted an exemption based on compassionate grounds. This includes, but is not limited to, end of life support for a patient, the partner or support person of a pregnant woman or patient in the maternity ward, and the carer of a patient with a disability.

NT Health would like to thank Territorians for their understanding and continued efforts to protect our vulnerable populations.

We recognise the important support visitors provide to patients and encourage family members and friends to stay in touch via phone and video messaging where appropriate.

NT Health will continue to monitor the current COVID-19 situation and amend visitor policies as case numbers decline.
