One person has died following a crash on Paterangi Road, near Te Awamutu this evening.
The crash, involving a car and a van, was reported to Police at 5.50pm.
The driver of the van was critically injured and passed away at the scene.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
Diversions are in place and the road is expected to remain closed for some time.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are under way.
