NZ police arrest man in Palmerston North on methamphetamine charges

A man is due in court tomorrow on methamphetamine charges after search warrants in Palmerston North today.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch, along with uniformed officers, executed the warrants this morning following a prolonged investigation.

As a result, a 44-year-old local man is to appear in Palmerston North District Court tomorrow [Saturday] charged with possession of methamphetamine for supply, and for supplying methamphetamine.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Wilson says it’s pleasing to be able to hold people to account for such offending.

“The supply of illicit substances to our community causes huge harm, in terms of social harm, health issues, and further criminal offending,” he says.

“Police will continue to focus our attention on those who profit from peddling harm in our communities.”
