NZ police officer charged in Auckland City

As stated by Superintendent Karyn Malthus, Auckland City District Commander:

Police have arrested and charged a 30-year-old male Police officer from Auckland City District.

The officer appeared today in the Auckland District Court to face a charge of accessing a computer system for dishonest purposes.

The charge was made as the result of a Police self-initiated investigation process.

The officer has been stood down from duty and an employment investigation will follow in due course.
