Council has voted to adopt amendments to the relevant Local Law to allow the creation of 15 additional dog off-leash areas.
Council resolved in August 2018 to proceed with the creation of the new off-leash areas under a schedule of short, medium and longer-term priority locations. Changes to Subordinate Local Law No. 11 (Animal Management) 2016 have now been adopted to reflect the resolution.
Under today’s amendment, six new off-leash areas are added at Bentley Park, Palm Cove, Kewarra Beach, White Rock, Kanimbla and Redlynch.
Two off-leash areas, both located at White Rock, have been removed from the Local Law.
