Officer charged – Central Metropolitan Region 8 June, NSW

A police officer has been charged following an investigation into a number of alleged offences including sexual assault, malicious damage and unauthorised access to police computer systems.

Strike Force Mattm was formed by Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command to investigate a number of alleged stalking, sexual assault and domestic violence-related offences against two women, both aged 26.

Following extensive inquiries, a 31-year-old constable – attached to a Central Metropolitan Region command – was arrested yesterday (Tuesday 7 June 2022), and charged with sexual intercourse without consent (two counts), stalk intend to cause fear (three counts), assault occasioning actual bodily harm, access restricted data held in computer, holder of public office misconduct himself, and maliciously damage property.

He is due to appear in Downing Centre Local Court today (Wednesday 8 June 2022).

The officer has been stood down from duties while his employment status is under review.
