Officer charged in South Eastern Region, QLD

A 36-year-old male constable from South Eastern Region has been charged following allegations of domestic violence.

The police officer was arrested in Canberra and extradited to Queensland where he was charged with five counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, one count of stalking and two counts of breaching a Domestic and Family Violence Order.

The police officer appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court today, where conditional bail was granted.

The officer has been suspended from duty with the Queensland Police Service and is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on December 16.
