A NSW Police officer has been charged for allegedly contravening the Surveillance Devices Act.
Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command commenced an investigation in November 2023, into alleged misconduct and contraventions of the Surveillance Devices Act.
Following inquiries, a 24-year-old man was served a court attendance notice and charged with three counts publish conversation obtained surveillance devices and install/use device record conversation party to.
Police will allege in court the man used a mobile phone to record a conversation and disseminated it to other parties without consent.
He will appear before Paramatta Local Court on Thursday 7 November 2024.
The officer is suspended with pay.
