A serving officer has been charged over an alleged assault in Sydney’s north-west last year.
Officers from the North West Metropolitan Region and the Professional Standards Command have been investigating an alleged assault during the arrest of a man on Saturday 5 September 2020.
Following inquiries, a male senior constable attached to a command in the North West Metropolitan Region was issued with a court attendance notice today (Thursday 8 April 2021) for the offences of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
The officer is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 20 May 2021.
The officers’ current employment status is under review.
