Officer charged over data access breach, NSW

A police officer will face court next month after allegedly disclosing data from the police computer system to tow truck drivers.

Officers from the Professional Standards Command have been investigating the leading senior constable, who is attached to a specialist command.

Yesterday (Tuesday 14 May 2019), the 53–year-old man was issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court on 27 June 2019.

There, he will answer allegations of accessing restricted data held in computer and public official unlawfully disclosing information.

The officer remains suspended with pay.
