Online brings new opportunities

Local business Skin Face Body has opened an online store to sell skincare products with the support of a Council grant. Applications are currently open for the business support eCommerce Grant.

Debbie Caruso, business owner of Skin Face Body adapted her business to online, after being severely impacted by COVID restrictions.

“We are still feeling the impact with last minute client COVID cancellations, which has a huge impact on our small business, as rent is still due and staff need to be paid,” says Debbie.

Her business was awarded funds from Round 1 of the eCommerce Grant from Council to the value of $1,500. This helped Debbie build online shopping functionality to sell cosmeceutical skincare, and develop an online booking system.

Skin Body Face customers have embraced the new online services available on the website.

“They love being able to book online, purchase products, and have the flexibility of being able to see what we offer,” she says.

Online has allowed Debbie to find new ways of doing business. In the future she would like to grow eCommerce, enhance the booking system, and look at offering online consultations.

She encourages other businesses to explore the possibilities that eCommerce offers.

“Jump in and get started, it is overwhelming at first but once you have an understanding you won’t look back. It’s a must for business.”

Applications are currently open for Round 2 of the Business Support eCommerce Grant. This round of grants will close when all funds have been rewarded. Further information is available at our Knox Biz website.
