Onshore International Student Sentiment Survey – second quarterly survey now open

Austrade

Austrade, with our state and territory destination agency’ partners, advise that the second quarterly onshore international student sentiment survey is now live. The survey is open for responses until 9 November, 2020. Providers and partners are invited to promote the survey through your international student networks. Help us understand international students’ needs and concerns during COVID-19.

Across four quarterly national surveys, the project will provide insights to help shape international student services and communications by sector stakeholders. The first quarterly survey, conducted in in July 2020, received almost 7,500 responses. In response to the findings of the first collection, the next survey will focus on employment-related information and concerns.

The second survey is now open, with responses accepted until 9 November, 2020. Once again, we invite providers and partners to work with us to promote survey participation, which should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Evidence-based understanding of international students’ concerns can help improve sector response measures designed to bolster Australia’s reputation as a safe and welcoming education destination. The surveys also identify how and where international students access information relating to their issues of concern. This data will enable more targeted and effective communications, including through Austrade’s Study Australia website and digital channels, peak bodies and education providers.

This initiative places international students’ wellbeing and their viewpoints at the heart of our work. Surveys are to be completed online and open to international students over 16 years of age, currently in Australia. At the end of the survey, respondents are guided to the Study Australia website containing information on student support, as well as state and territory measures.

Survey respondents also go into a draw to win one of four grocery e-gift cards, each to the value of AU$50, terms & conditions apply.

We have engaged a research agency, Edified, to conduct this project on our behalf. All surveys will be carried out in compliance with the Privacy Act, and responses are anonymous.
