Operation underway after fatal shooting at Auburn, NSW

An investigation is underway following a fatal shooting in Sydney’s south-west this evening.

Emergency services were called to a business on Parramatta Road, Auburn, after reports of a shooting about 8pm (Tuesday 10 May 2022).

Two men were treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in critical conditions.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, one of the men has since died.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation with the assistance of police attached to the State Crime Command’s Raptor and Criminal Groups Squads.

A police operation is currently underway on Parramatta Road at Auburn with local diversions in place. Police are advising the community to avoid the area.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
