Operational Plan update highlights key TRC achievements

Community Update

An update presented to this week’s Ordinary Meeting of Council has highlighted a number key achievements and milestones in the first quarter of the 2023/24 financial year for Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC).

The July-September Operational Plan Update was presented to Council with 155 of 160 organisational actions either on track or being monitored.

TRC Finance and Business Strategy Portfolio lead Cr Kerry Shine said the quarter one update highlighted a number of positive achievements of Council for the community.

“The Operational Plan update is a way for Council to evaluate the performance of the organisation and the fact that 97 per cent of organisational actions are either on track or being monitored is a great outcome for the community.

“The Operational Plan is an important measurement tool for Council and a way for the community to track progress on projects and issues that are of relevance.

“It was further pleasing to see in this month’s group report that local spend had been increasing with Council injecting $16.25 million back into the local Toowoomba economy for the month of October alone.

“This tremendous result represents almost 70 per cent of Council’s total spend for the month and I’m delighted to see such high percentages of spending supporting local business and jobs,” Cr Shine said.
