Opportunity to join Community drug Action Team

Griffith Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) is seeking to boost its membership and wants to hear from locals who are passionate about building a strong, healthy and connected community.

Griffith Community Drug Action Team is currently focused on making local youth feel more connected in the local area by working alongside the Pioneer Community Action Group (PCAG) and the Griffith PCYC to create social activities using sport at Dave Taylor Park. With support from Griffith City Library staff we are organising alcohol and other drug information sessions and workshops for individuals and family wanting to know more about addiction, rehabilitation and local support services.

Unfortunately these programs have been delayed due to COVID 19 isolation but CDAT is looking at online presentations during this time.

CDAT Chairperson Patricia Cox said, “There are a range of opportunities for more locals to get involved.”

“Whether you’d like to become a Community Drug Action Team member or can offer a small amount of time to assist with one-off events, we’d love to hear from you,” said Ms Cox

“Community Drug Action Teams are led by passionate volunteers, wanting to make a difference in their own neighbourhoods. If more people get involved, we are likely to have bigger impact.”
