Optus business and Cisco expand managed cloud networking support

Enhanced Meraki offering allows enterprises to scale with ease, even in remote locations

Optus Business and Cisco have today announced an improved offering of Managed Cloud networking services, expanding on their existing partnership to deliver Ciscos Meraki cloud management system for Australian enterprises.

Cisco Meraki creates secure, scalable and easy-to-deploy networks that can be managed from anywhere. This can be done from almost any device using the web-based Cisco Meraki dashboard or mobile app.

Optus Business customers using Meraki benefit from proactive managed services, rapid provisioning, enhanced reliability and security, and customer reporting and analytics.

As businesses look to realise the benefits of cloud-based networking, were delighted to now offer customers access to the full Cisco Meraki technology stack with a managed cloud networking service, said John Paitaridis, Managing Director, Optus Business.

Optus Business expanded Meraki offering will enable customers to set network security and performance policies by application, ensuring access to only appropriate content and applications.

Enterprises will also be able to deploy devices in remote locations rapidly, allowing employees to work where they want.

LTE capabilities will mean that customers will enjoy significantly enhanced reliability, speed and security from our wireless WAN backup service, which is integrated with our network.

Optus is delivering this as a service, freeing up executives to focus on their core business and other value-add opportunities.

The Cisco Meraki dashboard is also integrated with Optus advanced network management platform to deliver a superior customer experience.

This is a natural extension of our Optus-Cisco partnership and truly provides businesses with operational improvements from day one of deployment, said Ken Boal, Vice President of Cisco Australia & New Zealand. We are bringing enterprises the range of benefits of managed cloud networking such as scaling up its network provisioning quickly and simply.

To support the service, Optus Business has more than 60 Cisco Meraki accredited staff on its team.
