Oxley + Stirling takes out Queensland’s top property prize

Oxley + Stirling, a Brisbane apartment development that sets a new benchmark for riverside architecture, has taken home Queensland’s top property award.

Aria Property Group was presented with the Rider Levett Bucknall Queensland Development of the Year award today.

Located on Christie Street in South Brisbane, Oxley + Stirling comprises 219 apartments over 15 storeys.

“Oxley + Stirling wowed the judges for redefining residential living in Australia with a blend of striking architectural features, high-quality apartment finishes, world class rooftop amenities and concierge style onsite management,” says Property Council Queensland Deputy Executive Director Jen Williams.

Sitting on a bend between two reaches of the Brisbane River, Oxley + Stirling maximises the spectacular outlooks across the Brisbane River, CBD and botanical gardens. The architectural form was shaped by the views, with every single apartment offering stunning panoramas.

“Oxley + Stirling effortlessly combines beauty, luxury and sustainability, with passive environmental design that embodies the principles of a traditional Queenslander,” Ms Williams adds.

The development’s residential rooftop club – overlooking Southbank and the Brisbane River – features an infinity pool, private dining room, theatre room, fitness centre, reflection pond, sunken lounges and barbecue areas.

The RLB Queensland Development of the Year award is part of the 2020 Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards program.

Oxley + Stirling Residences is now competing for the Avenor Award for Best Residential Development at the national awards, which will be held virtually on Thursday 22 October.

RLB has partnered with the Property Council to present the awards program since its inception in 1982.

“Property is Australia’s largest industry, contributing 13 per cent of the nation’s GDP and employing 1.4 million people,” says RLB’s Managing Director, David Stewart.

“Innovative projects like Oxley + Stirling showcase the smart solutions that create jobs, growth and opportunities for Queenslanders,” Mr Stewart concludes.
