PD Jax nabs three after pursuit, South Australia

Three people have been charged following the pursuit of a stolen car in the Northern suburbs early this morning.

Just after 2.45am on Saturday 16 May Northern District patrols attempted to stop a blue Mercedes on Haydown Road in Elizabeth Vale. The car refused to pull over and took off away from the patrol.

Checks on the car revealed it had been stolen on Tuesday 12 May during an alleged aggravated robbery where the victim, a 32-year-old Mawson Lakes man, was stabbed in the leg. The man was treated at the RAH for a minor injury.

Police perused the Mercedes for a short time until road spikes were successfully deployed near the intersection of Bolivar Road and Port Wakefield Road but the car continued driving. The car then turned into Daniel Avenue at Globe Derby where it was abandoned with the three occupants running into scrubland.

Patrols condoned the area while Police Dog PD Jax was sent in to search. PD Jax quickly tracked down the three occupants who were all placed under arrest.

A 29-year-old man from no fixed address has been charged with dangerous driving to escape police pursuit and illegal use. While a 26-year-old man from Munno Para West and a 23-year-old woman from Mansfield Park were charged with illegal use of motor vehicle.

Investigations are continuing, anyone with information that may assist police is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report on line at www.crimestopperssa.com.au – you can remain anonymous.
