Pedestrian critical after being struck by car in Strathfield

A woman is in a critical condition after being struck by a car in Strathfield yesterday.

Just before 9.30pm (Tuesday 17 September 2019), emergency services were called to Homebush Road near Burlington Road, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

The woman, aged 70, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the Toyota Kluger, a 43-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was forensically examined by the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue.
