Pedestrian struck in Cheltenham

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are currently on the scene of a fatal collision in Cheltenham.

Investigators have been told a woman was crossing Warrigal Road when she was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Oak Street about 10.30am.

The woman as taken to hospital with life threatening injuries but has since died in hospital.

The 50-year-old female driver of the Hyundai, and sole occupant, stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
