Perth-based architect chosen for new facilities at Alkimos College

  • T&Z Architects chosen to plan and design Alkimos College’s new facilities
  • Stage 2 planning includes a student services block, performing arts centre, dance and visual art studios, music classrooms, general classrooms, specialist and STEM classrooms
  • A McGowan Labor Government election commitment 
  • Perth-based architect firm T&Z Architects has been appointed to design and plan Stage 2 of Alkimos College.

    Early plans for the arts department include additional learning spaces and studios.

    New workshops, student services centre and classrooms are also part of plans for Stage 2.

    Alkimos College is focused on providing local students with world-class learning facilities to help them succeed in their secondary education.

    The school opened in 2020 with the completed Stage 1 facilities which included a specialist design and technologies block, general classrooms, science and IT laboratories, sports hall, canteen and library.

    As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

    “Alkimos College has already seen a positive response from the local community as it enters its third year of welcoming students.

    “It is great to see planning underway to ensure these exciting new facilities and learning areas are ready to go as the school grows.”

    As stated by Butler MLA John Quigley:

    “This is a fantastic milestone for this key election commitment which continues to show the McGowan Government’s dedication to public education in our community.

    “The new facilities will help Alkimos College continue to deliver the highest standards of learning for students of all abilities, and I can’t wait to see the final designs.”
