Peter Sandeman joins SA Housing Authority

Well-known and respected homelessness expert and social justice advocate, Peter Sandeman has joined the SA Housing Authority as a strategic advisor.

Adjunct Professor Sandeman will take a part-time strategic advisory role with the Authority, starting next week.

Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink announced the appointment today.

“Peter’s commitment to achieving better housing outcomes for people who are experiencing disadvantage has been life-long,” said Minister Lensink.

“Peter has decades of experience, supporting people in need of housing and homelessness services and other supports, both in South Australia as the CEO of Anglicare and in similar executive roles in NSW and the ACT.

“He brings this experience to the Authority at a time when we’re delivering nation-first, bold and much-needed reform, including our new homelessness alliances and driving innovation across the sector.

“As Director, Strategic Advice, Peter will work with government and non-government agencies in the homelessness and community housing sector, to strengthen collaboration and drive system-wide reform, with our shared, ultimate aim of getting better outcomes for our most vulnerable South Australians.

“We welcome Peter on board at a time of exciting opportunity for us to continue to drive changes to stop the cycle of homelessness, ensure social housing is for our most vulnerable and empower and support more South Australians into homeownership.”
