Pig vandal arrested, South Australia

A man has been arrested following an investigation into the vandalism of the Rundle Mall pigs last week.

The damage was caused overnight between Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 September. Police and the Adelaide City Council were notified later that day and commenced an investigation. The substance used in the vandalism caused extensive corrosive damage to the four pigs; Horatio, Oliver, Truffles and Augusta.

Just after 4.30pm today, Wednesday 30 September, the alleged suspect was spotted on CCTV cameras in Rundle Mall, Adelaide, police swooped on the 65-year-old man and placed him under arrest. He will be charged with property damage.
