PILOTS WARNED TO STAY GROUNDED OVER EASTER

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority has told private and recreational pilots they should stay on the ground this Easter.

Pilots must ensure they adhere to social distancing requirements and restrictions on interstate travel.

CASA has sent an email to more than 30,000 pilots across the nation to reinforce the need to avoid non-essential travel.

Private pilots must be aware of all government travel restrictions, particularly across some state borders.

The simple message from CASA is for pilots to heed the direction of the Federal and State Governments to stay at home at Easter.

CASA has taken a range of actions to provide support to the aviation sector during the COVID 19 crisis.

This includes measures to reduce costs and red tape for pilots, engineers, air operators, maintenance organisations, aerodromes and drone operators.
