Planned water outage – Lennox Head town centre: Ballina Shire

Planned water outage - Lennox Head town centre

Ballina Shire Council will be installing a new water main connection on Ballina Street as part of the Lennox Village Vision project.

This work will be carried out at night and will require the use of power equipment, which will unfortunately generate some construction noise.

Water supply will need to be shutdown overnight, from 10.30pm Thursday 24 February 2022 to 4am Friday 25 February 2022, to enable connection of the new main.

This water outage will impact properties on Ballina Street, Park Lane, Rayner Lane, Rutherford Street, Mackney Lane, and part of Byron Street.

It is anticipated that there will be minimal disruption to traffic flow along Ballina Street, with construction signage in place and traffic control as needed.

Tips for preparing for the temporary water outage:

  • You may wish to store water in preparation for the interruption.
  • When your water returns, it may be discoloured. This is due to sediment. Please run the tap until your water runs clear.
  • Milky water is caused by small air bubbles. Do not be alarmed. This is not harmful, and will settle after a short period.
  • Please leave your taps off during the interruption as water may return at any time.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents and businesses for their patience while these essential works are completed.

If you have any enquiries in regard to this matter please contact Council’s Water and Wastewater team on 1300 864 444.
