Playgrounds, skate parks, outdoor gym equipment reopening

In line with state government restrictions being eased, Cardinia Shire Council’s playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor exercise equipment will reopen to the public from Tuesday 26 May.

Public BBQs will remain closed.

Council is working to remove ‘closure’ signs and tape from our playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor gym equipment.

At all outdoor locations, Victorian Government regulations regarding recreation activities must be followed – groups of no more than 10 people are allowed, and physical distancing must be maintained.

Please practise good hygiene before, during and after visiting all public spaces and do not visit if you don’t feel well.

Cardinia Shire Mayor Councillor Jeff Springfield said he was pleased more of our much-loved local spaces are reopening, and reminded the community to follow government guidelines.

“Our community has been doing a really fantastic job throughout the periods of restrictions. Please continue to stay safe, take care, and look after yourselves,” he said.
