Police appeal after assault in Mortdale

Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was allegedly assaulted at his home in Mortdale yesterday.

Between midnight and 3am on Sunday (20 October 2019), a 47-year-old man exited his home on Boundary Road when he was allegedly struck in the back of the head by an unknown male and fell to the ground.

Police were told that the 47-year-old was also allegedly kicked to the body and face a number of times by unknown males, demanding money.

The unknown males entered his home and left the scene a short time later.

The 47-year-old was able to make his way back inside his home, before passing out.

About 8.45am on Sunday (21 October 2019), the man’s partner arrived home and conveyed him to St George Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for significant facial and head injuries.

Officers from St George Police Area Command attended the home in Mortdale and commenced an investigation.
