Police appeal after man assaulted and robbed in Waverley

Police have appealed for anyone with information to come forward after a man was assaulted and robbed at Waverley overnight.

About 12.20am today (Sunday 17 February 2019) a 28-year-old man was walking along Arden Street when he was challenged by three males.

The males demanded property and the man handed over a wallet, a mobile phone and cards.

The man was then assaulted by the group who fled.

The injured man hailed a taxi and emergency services were contacted.

Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended.

The man who had suffered head and rib injuries was treated by Ambulance paramedics and conveyed to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have been in Arden Street at the time of the incident to come forward.
