Police appeal after teenager followed by man in Yagoona

Police are appealing for information after a 17-year-old female was followed by a man in Yagoona, in Sydney’s south-west last week.

About 3.45pm on Thursday (28 November 2019), a 17-year-old girl noticed a man staring at her, before he followed her off the train at Yagoona Railway Station.

The man allegedly followed her around the railway station, a convenience store, and a local supermarket. Police have been told he would stand next to her and stare whenever she stopped.

This continued until the girl lost sight of him on nearby Church Street.

The incident was reported to officers from the Police Transport and Public Safety Command and an investigation commenced.

As part of the ongoing investigation, officers have released CCTV of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being of Asian appearance, aged in his 40’s and of a medium build. At the time, he was wearing a dark-coloured New York Yankees cap, dark pants, work boots, a watch, a black armband on his wrist and a large black backpack.
