Police appeal for information after man robbed in Redfern

Police have appealed for information to help identify a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries into an armed robbery at Redfern earlier this month.

About 9pm on Thursday 7 February 2019, a 19-year-old man was walking along the eastern footpath of Elizabeth Street near the intersection with Redfern Street.

Another man, armed with a knife, approached and stood in front of the 19-year-old man, demanding his wallet.

The man tried to run away but was caught and threatened by the offender.

The offender fled with the man’s wallet and was last seen walking in a northerly direction on Elizabeth Street.

Officers from Redfern Police Area Command were contacted and commenced a search of the area without success.

Investigators have now released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries into the robbery.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 40-years-old, and180cm tall.

The man has an average build, short dark hair and was unshaven.
