Police appeal to locate elderly man missing in Sydney

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing in Sydney city.

Ian Stevenson, aged 80, was last seen getting off the light rail at Rawson Place and George Street, Sydney, about 2pm today (Wednesday 22 March 2023) and became separated from family.

He was reported missing to officers from Sydney City Police Area Command after he could not be located.

Police and family hold concern for his welfare as he lives with dementia and is unfamiliar with the area as he is from out of town.

Ian is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 177cm tall, of solid build with short brown hair and glasses.

As depicted in the image, he was last seen wearing a red jumper with black pants, carrying a blue suit bag.

Inquiries have revealed Ian was at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Foveaux Street, Surry Hills, at about 6pm.
