Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a girl missing from Sydney’s south.
Ashleigh Afele, aged 12, was last seen on Martin Place, Mortdale, about 7am yesterday (Tuesday 11 August 2026).
When she could not be located, officers attached to St George Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.
Police and family hold concerns for Ashleigh’s welfare due to her young age.
Ashleigh is described as being of Pacific Islander / Maori appearance, about 160cm tall, of thin build, with long dark hair.
She is known to frequent the Mortdale, Bankstown Lilyfield and Kingsgrove areas and may be utilising public transport.
