Police appeal to locate man missing from Birrong

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man reported missing from Sydney’s south-west.

Malae Fifita, aged 36, was last seen leaving a home in Neutral Avenue, Birrong, about 6am on Saturday (23 September 2023).

When he could not be located or contacted, he was reported missing to officers from Bankstown Police Area Command, who commenced inquiries to locate him.

Police and family hold serious concerns for his welfare as he lives with autism and is nonverbal and has medical conditions that require treatment.

Malae is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, between 165-175cm tall, of medium build, with black hair and brown eyes.

It’s believed Malae may have caught a train at Birrong Railway Station and is known to frequent the Sydney CBD and Hawkesbury areas.

Anyone who sees Malae or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Bankstown police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
