Police are asking members of the public to come froward who believe they may have had interactions with a woman issuing ‘Covid exemption certificates’ after Detectives this week charged a woman under Health Practitioner Regulation National Law.
On Wednesday (October 13), police charged a 46-year-old Gold Coast woman after executing a search warrant at a residence in Labrador. She was later charged with five counts of taking a title indicating a person is a health practitioner, and allegedly told police she had issued more than 600 false medical exemption certificates in relation to Covid.
Police will allege the woman engaged with people across the country, primarily via initial online video consultations.
Following the arrest, police have received several calls from concerned members of the community who believe they may have had interactions with the woman.
In many instances, people would not have known the woman was acting illegally. However, it is important to recognise the ‘exemptions’ issued by the woman are invalid.
Police would like to speak with any person who believes they may have spoken to this woman via phone, video conference or in person.
