Fawkner Highway Patrol officers are investigating a fatal collision in Craigieburn this evening.
A child was struck by a vehicle in a driveway off Esteem Road about 8.20pm.
Paramedics worked on the child, but they were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established and the investigation remains ongoing.
