Police are responding to fatal crash at Cromer, South Australia

A young child has died after a crash yesterday in the Adelaide Hills.

About 12.43pm on Saturday 14 March, police and ambulance crews were called to the intersection of Lucky Hit Road and Warren Road at Cromer, after reports of a crash between a Ford van and a Ford station wagon.

Two men in the van suffered minor injuries.

The occupants of the station wagon, a man, woman and two young children were taken to the Lyell McEwin Hospital for treatment, however the condition of one of the children, a 2-month-old boy, worsened and he was taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Sadly, the child died last night.

The driver of the car, a 42-year-old Victorian man was arrested by Major Crash investigators and charged with causing death by dangerous driving. He was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 22 April.

The child’s death takes the number of lives lost on South Australian roads to 25, the same number at this time last year.
